Why we Golf, Ride, and ask for your Support

  • Brain cancer is a highly aggressive and incurable disease, often striking without warning and, with its short survival rate, it makes it difficult to conduct research and long-term clinical trials.

  • Glioblastoma is especially difficult to treat because glial cells penetrate the brain, spreading like a spider web. Even when the malignancy is cut away, cancer cells remain at the edges of the tumor and are virtually impossible to distinguish from normal brain tissue.  Inevitably, they grow, and the cancer returns.

  • These events support brain cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where we have helped fund six valuable research projects to date.  With your support, we can continue to fund exceptional brain cancer research and make amazing discoveries in this field.

  • Standard protocol treatment only works for 30 percent of patients.  By supporting large brain tumor centers that engage in cutting edge research and have a large number clinical trials available, patients and their families can get the best care for their particular tumor's molecular structure.

  • We ask for your support so that we can continue to educate and raise awareness regarding brain cancer and treatment options.
