The CEF provides hope to brain cancer patients and their loved ones by working with volunteers to carry out our mission: education, awareness, advocacy and research. We invite you to join Team CEF as a volunteer.

There are several areas in which we need volunteers to successfully launch programs, fulfill needs, and help the organization to fundraise and grow.

Some of the following volunteer areas include:

  • Special Events (Large Scale)
  • Special Events (Small Scale)
  • Sponsored Events
  • Auction Procurement (Silent and Live)
  • General Office Administration
  • Production Assistant
  • Grant Writing (Professional grant writers who can research, write and submit and introduce the organization to community partners)
  • Connectors (People who are connected in the community and can introduce us to key decision makers)

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the online volunteer application. Please be specific about your areas of interest, and why your current skill set would be a benefit to that area or the organization. If you are interested in a new area outside of your skill set, please list that on the application.

Meet Vicki

Vicki lost her step-father 21 years ago, and most recently her father last September both to Glioblastoma. She has a strong desire to help bring an end to this terrible disease. She volunteers as the graphic designer for CEF, and donates 10-20% of her sales from her Ebay online store and auctions. To view Vicki's store and help support CEF visit her online store, Chic Vintage Goods.

About Vicki

In 1997, after working in the hotel business for several years, Vicki Pene was looking for a new direction. A career counselor suggested she become a graphic designer. "I was shocked," she says, "as I didn't think I was creative and didn't know the first thing about art." But on blind faith she quit her job, went to art school, and hasn't looked back since.
With a B.S. in Marketing from San Diego State University and a Graphic Design diploma from Platt College, Vicki has worked as a photo retoucher at Corbis and as senior designer at Blue Shield of California; she's currently the senior designer at the wireless technology company Qualcomm. She also runs Visuality Designs, her one-person design studio.
